We decided to take a much needed downtime/relax day today, as the last couple have been chocka full of activities and our poor feet and ankles have swollen into painful disbelief.

After a proper nights sleep and sleep in (thank you melatonin over the counter), followed by the now-usual eggy breakfast at the diner downstairs we hurried off to grab a lounger by the Roosevelt pool. It. Was. Amazing.

The whole day was exactly what we needed : blue sunny skies, heated pool, cocktails and reading books. We finally found somewhere that does healthy food, getting server poolside from the Tropicana Bar.  (As we write this, we’re devouring another strawberry/banana/nutella crepe, so I guess it’s hard to be sympathetic about our bad food problems).

LA poolside is exactly what they say it is. People watching, good looking aspiring models/actors etc waiting tables with sulky attitudes, and lots of fake boobs. Everyone is freaking fit and good-looking…it’s enough to give any tourist total body shame.

We literally stayed poolside from 11 to 6, and followed up the evening with a low key recon mission to Sephora and another visit to the French crepery. Tomorrow is a fly day, so hallelujah we get to experience LAX again!
