Day Three : Movies, stars and painfully cool LA people

10th July 2016

Today started very early after very little sleep. Let’s say it was quiet over breakfast. We had a big day planned, allocated to Universal Studios…but there was a pool party at Roosevelt that afternoon which could have been a good way to unwind and we were hoping to get back in time to check it out before pool closed down at 7pm. We did not. Universal was so massive, and we had so much fun we didn’t get back until 6pm, drained and tired. (post here).

After a bit of a catnap and feet up we decided to use our comp cocktail tickets (gifted to us by the hotel for Juju’s birthday), and have a drink at 25 Degrees downstairs. Let me just say, they pour their drinks heavy. We had two massive cocktails between us, and by the time we stumbled to Madame Tussaud’s we were quite giddy. But that just made for a super fun time! (post here). We still had another two drink vouchers, so when we headed back to the hotel at 10.30 or so, we went via The Spare Room a gaming parlour and cocktail lounge, at the hotel. Getting wrist stamped at the door should have been a signal, but we were none-the-wiser when we stepped through the doors to a scene out of a freaking movie. It was late Sunday night and the lounge was full of millenials and hipsters drinking expensive flower laden cocktails and playing backgammon, ludo, cards and bowling. Yup, two wooden bowling lanes, in the bar, surrounded by braces-wearing moustachioed hipsters.

Of course we joined in, and spent the next hour or so drinking said flower laden cocktails and playing rounds of bingo. It was a very jovial end to a massive/fun day…bumped back to down earth when we grouchily tried to go through photos and do the blog thing, tired and half-cut. We said fuck that, went to bed – hence the back dated post, while we wait at the most depressing airport gate in the world, for our flight to NYC. There’s no seats (and I don’t mean none left, I mean NO SEATS at all).

But first…back track to Day Four.
