Day two started out a wee bit tired and lagged out. We forced ourselves outta bed and hit up some cardio at the hotel fitness centre, to try and blow the cobwebs away. It totally worked, and after that we headed to 25 Degrees for delish scrambled eggs.
The hotel was buzzing with setup for the Ghostbusters Premiere After-Party and since the Historic Lobby was locked off to civilians for the day, we had to sneakily snap some pictures of the props until we realized we had a security detail carefully monitoring our every move. We made a swift exit to the guest elevators.
We always had the plan to do the LA Hop On, Hop Off bus tour on the first full day in town – just to get our bearings and see what’s up. It was really hard to pull ourselves away from a poolside day however, as the sky was blue, the sun was hot, and the water looked amazing. But, we ventured through the Hollywood crowds, made ten thousand times worse because of Ghostbusters-related road closures outside the TCL Chinese Theatre. We managed to get on the bus…with a few incidents along the way (read about it here).
Enjoyably tired from sight-seeing (with a very unexpected and beloved stop at a RuPaul pop-up shop (yass queen!), shopping and tripping around, we freshened up back at the hotel, before heading across the road to Highland / Hollywood for some crepes and late night drug store shopping*. The crowds are hideous, so many crazy people around, and everyone hawking and hustling for some dollar dollar bills y’all.
The party was in full swing when we got back to the hotel, and we spied all sorts of white-people awkward dancing, wasted kissing attempts and lasers lighting up the night. So Hollywood.

*Ju found a 591ml Sugar-Free Red Bull that even she could concede was a bad life choice (she didn’t drink/buy it), and we found our American choc chip cookies which we discovered in Hawaii and have never been able to find them since. Happy ending.

Ooooo the RuPaul looks fab!
